GTX 280 - HDMI adapter

Hey lads I got a little quirk to sort out!

As you noticed, I have a GTX 280.
I have it hooked to my 22" monitor using a DVD-D cable.
Now I am wondering how do I go about using a HDMI adapter.

Is it as simple as buying one of these:

http://cgi.ebay.ie/ws/eBayISAPI.dll?...ht_3587wt_1165

Do I get this adapter and hook it right in and there?? everything is sorted?

or..Do I need something else to make it work??
or am I completely wrong?

Oh and one more thing!
What does a HDMI adapter actually do compared to DVI-D?

You're fine using the adapter to go between HDMI and DVI, doesn't matter which way either. Just make sure you get the genders right. Also the DVI-D and HDMI video signals are the same. Sure the pinouts are different but that's all. Obviously the HDMI will also carry the audio unlike the DVI.

System Specs

The side of the adapter connecting to the card should be male and the other connector should be female (This actually depends on the cable connecting to the adapter, most normal connections this will be female)
