neat idea. but just move your laptop to your 1080p tv. hookup hdmi (which a lot of newer laptops comes with it seems) and done.

I currently connect my laptop to the TV via a VGA cable lol But this would be so much easier and 'look' a lot nicer than cabling (although I do have my cables in trunking)

I think this will be more than a gimmick because its practical.
