any word on the price? This will be an awesome replacement for low wattage video cards that doesn't play well, hope this will be decent for low end gaming.

definitely a good option for a budget build , a bit faster than GT240 . Uhm according to THETECHREPORT's review the card runs a little bit hot ( 71C / load ) , but that's not really a problem .

This looks exactly like ATI's stock 5670 but the shroud on the heatsink has a decal on it and the PCB is black.

I was going to order a 240 today, should I wait? I am seeing mid-range ATI cards price slowly going up, I meant the 4670.

According to my knowledge... DDR memory relies on the CPU, whereas, the (GPU) GDDR relies on the GPU Core clock. Also, the reason why it is kind of slow...just look at your motherboard! Most RAM is placed near the CPU for fast access! So... the GPU has to travel a little further to tap itself and transfer its data to the CPU and the RAM...

P.S. This is my theory and measurement on the motherboard.

GDDR is capable of giving a much, much higher bandwidth than you'll see on any motherboard, mainly due to each chip having its own 32 or 64 bit bus to the GPU. For example, a 256 bit bus card will usually have 8 or 4 RAM chips.

The 5670 does look like a very nice card, if it comes anywhere near 4770 performance I'll be impressed.

Is it just me, or does the XFX one look so much better than the others? I mean, its clean, simple and to the point.. Oh and single slot.

If its temps are good, I think XFX has the better product for it.

Yeah, XFX usually designs their cards very well. I wouldn't want this card taking up 2 slots like how the HIS IceQ version does.

The thing about this XFX is that it will run considerable warmer than the other models.
To me the HIS one is the winner as long as dual slot is not a problem.

From what I've seen of the card, XFX didn't redesign anything. Its the exact same as ATI's stock setup. Here's what the stock card looks like.

YES! There's plenty of room for well-built, advanced single-slot coolers to find a place in the market while still providing adequate cooling and at least reasonable noise levels. I am not overly interested in keeping cool, as I firmly believe that most modern GPUs and memory chips have no issues withstanding high temperatures for long periods of time, I just need something small and powerful for my SFF gaming build.

512MB ~£53+VAT, 1GB ~£65+VAT 1GB challenges 4830, 4770, GTS250 and 4850 in some tests beats 4670 and GT240 across the board.

GDDR5 is the same as graphical double data rate. So the "G" stands for graphic as a graphic card ram.
