TBF, my post is pretty cryptic, but this one that we've both linked to isn't officially accepted and therefore doesn't count, but my point is - as soon as the 980X is officially released then we'll see new records broken - interesting that a nearly 6GHz hexa-core CPU is almost beaten by a current quad.

Touche` but then again 3dmark dosent really take full advantage of all trichannel bandwidth. Speed is where its at and timings in a bench war. Which is why i bought i5.

Speed=bandwidth. Tri channel just doesn't need the clocks that dual channel does to get the same performance. Although tighter timings are always better, bandwidth hits a point of no return eventually.

Its like the difference between DDR2 and DDR3. 775 in the old days couldnt take advantage of the speed of DDR3 but i7 can. Other parts bottleneck trichannel. I personally think they shoulda skipped the confusion of tri and went quad.
