What P55 setup for page layout/light Photoshop?

And general multitasking. For a buddy and I'm less schooled in the new sockets. The CPU options easier to figure out but boards? One of the Gigabytes? RAM?

You won't need anything extreme for that sort of thing.

Hells a 775 system with an e5200 and 4gb of ram would be plenty for such tasks.

What I mean to say is just go with brands you know are good but you won't need anything fancy.

There is a similar discussion here. In all I suggest waiting for the P65 chipsets.

Thanks. Yeah depending on what the guy wants to spend I may go P45/C2Q. He runs a small monthly newspaper and already has one e6400 P965 system so I am looking to do more of an upgrade with the next. Will swap out an old P4 Dell. At least a quad and 4GB RAM; he will take advantage. Was thinking about lower-end P55 mainly for memory bandwidth increase I guess even though for his needs it's probably not that important. That and being able to play with i5 before I otherwise would.
