PCI-E 1.0 Vs PCI-E 2.0 for GTX 295

Hi Guys.

I have looked around for some accurate info as to whether my Gigabyte P965 PCI-E 1.0 will bottleneck a GTX 295. I have a Q6600 @ 3.33Mhz and a GTX 260 in at the moment. Any good info will be greatly appreciated.

Sounds like it should be fine to me, I ran a Q6600 @ 3.6 with a GTX295 in a pci-e gen 1 slot and it was pretty darn sweet.

As a genuine bottleneck goes, I think the Q6600 is the hindrance there, my two GTX260's in my i7 rig flogged the GTX295+Q6600

That depends on your settings; at higher resolutions you might get bottlenecked, but as wolf said, the Q6600 may be a bigger issue.

Isn't a GTX260 already enough for 1680 x 1050? I can't help but think it'd be a waste of money going to a GTX295 only to be limited by that resolution.
