Member raid disk to its original state (non-member with its own old data)

hi ... what I've done is destroying my backup HARD disk by mistakenly making it as raid member disk using the XHD (Extreme HARD DRIVE) that came with my new P55 mobo what I had is 2X120GB as raid 0 and 400GB as back------up (not any more ) and now I still have the 2x120GB as Raid but without additional free space (coming from the 400GB) all I have is this

I lost 400GB (was divided into 2 drives I and J ) and now get unallocated 111.79GB is there is any chance that I can get my data back. if any one can help.

I havnt worked with the XHD software. But I'm not sure what you can do to recover your stuff.

The only way I could see it work is if you remove the hdd from your raid configuration and then preform a recovery on the drive. BUT you may corrupt your raid configuration and screw it all up. The remaining drives may not work correctly anymore

yea that what I'm gonna do .... no problem if I lost the raid array, they are worthless now (system and games) and I just put my new PC altogether so I already need fresh install....

XHD seems to be just a marketing name for enabling RAID mode on the PCH. Intel lists the PCH as having capacity expansion support, so what I think happened is that it expanded your RAID-0 array onto the 400GB drive (which is why you have a 335GB disk-0).

What sizes were I: and J:? Because of the amount of writing during expansion I think all the data on the 'inner 120GB' of the drive has been obliterated.

A program such as GetBackData may be able to read the not-shown (~280GB) portion of your 400GB drive. If the I: partition was larger than 120GB, it's possible that the files on the J: partition may be intact.
