mass effect wont start after reinstalling win 7

I just reinstall win 7 and now Mass Effect 1 wont start anymore. It shows screen with play, configure,... but when I click play, notthing happen.

It works before with win 7 pro x64 but not anymore. Directx right now is 11 (isnt that 4870 isnt compatible with directx 11 ? ). Im also using latest ccc (this may the the problem to...)

hi yes I did. Twice actually. I think this is some kind of driver problem...I'm at ccc 10.1 and i'm trying to rollback to 9.12 but cant uninstall the 10.1...

just uninstall it from the windows control panel.

FYI, you will need to install directX 9.0C - think of 9, 10 and 11 as seperate. Mass effect is a DX9 game, so it will need DX9 installed and up to date - just because an OS supports DX11, doesnt mean its got all the DX9 files that came out since the OS was released.

will i need to uninstall directx11 before installing directx 9.0c or it just work right away?

edit: actually i just ask my friend he has win 7 pro and directx 11 and still play as normal

no, you just update it. They all exist at the same time on the PC.

Even if you dont understand it, just install the latest DX9.0C

hi i install the runtime installer also rolled back to ccc 9.12 but still not fixed ;(

lol, well there you go. maybe it needed admin rights to install something, on the first run.
