3D is going to be difficult to convince people to buy. It's something else that people don't really need. I'll stick with my 1080p thank you.

^ That.

Every system wants to add motion controls... now 3D.

Glad I have a huge stash of unfinished games, not that I mind playing the classics over and over.

I have no problem with 3-d, its the 120hz T.V. that's required that bothers me...

Indeed, the PS3 itself IS something people really need. I kinda like NV's 3dvision, it's a nice gimmick. Though usually I can't be arsed to pick up the glasses.

If they could recreate a 3D like Avatar in the future in games it would be great. Instead of stuff flying out the screen its more depth of image on screen.

I'd like to hear how 3d is gay

After all, it doesn't posess the neccesary hardware to do you, if you know what i'm saying

EDIT: Oh wait! Isn't 3d just the same picture on top of each other to give the illusion of 3d? I get you now man!

Iv read that the people working towards a standard 3D bluray format are targeting the PS3 as a 100% compatible. To me this says you do not need a 120Hz tv etc. PS3 has HDMI 1.3 which supports upto 60Hz, HDMI 1.4 when finished should support greater refresh rates.

So surely for the PS3 to work it just needs the synced shutter glasses and a HDMI capable tv/monitor?

A movie is usually 24fps, so a 60Hz panel is more than capable of showing double the frame rate for both eyes?

The overhead to store left and right eye footage apparently will be 50% of what it normally takes to store HD. So that will leave 50GB blurays with little breathing room for even more information due to higher numbers of frames.

If however it does require a new tv, im fairly sure it wont take off too well, many people have a HD ready tv, yet have never tried or have HD service or players.

Eitherway it would be cool to have Avatar like it is in the cinema in the home!

I like 3D. We have it set up at our store and looks nice and really fun to play with.. yeah its not the best yet but it not like we can skip to the best thing right away. need to take steps. its what we all have been doing with our computers......

"If it ain't broke, don't fix it." is the dumbest thing I've ever heard. If it ain't broke.... make it better. its how we got to where we are now with tech.

Information. Overload. 3D = entertainment. Information overload = work. Work != entertainment.

Besides, once everyone has "3D" it will be just as bland as color TVs back in the day or HDTV today. If what you are watching is crap, 3D ain't gonna fix it.

I got soar ears when I was watching it, still awesome though, but when your sitting at home in the loungeroom, no one can be bothered to put glasses on, especially me, unless its Nvidia's 3D gaming thingy maging!, still waiting for Fermi, after that, buy a 120hz moniter or LED TV and BOOM, 3D

Would of been ten times worse without the glasses looking at a blurred screen.

my eyes dont work in 3D. i saw it as a blur with the glasses.

maybe one scene in 5 i got the 3D effect, but anytime there was "foreground" effects (like the ash/embers falling down near the end of the movie) all i got was blur.

3D may be the new big thing, but god... so many people are going to hate it, or never use it compared to the other techs of the era (widescreen, 5.1 audio, etc)

120Hz is a massive problem too... look at how many games wont run at anything other than 60Hz? If you need to set 120Hz, especially for DX10 games... you are so screwed (there is no DX10 refresh rate forcing programs)

I can't see the 3D properly also! The image keeps flickering and my eyes hurt after. I'll skip 3D and wait for holography.

I guess 3D is for some ppl and not everyone.

If 120hz moniter would plague too many problems with current games that always run at 60hz, I will avoid it then.
