Also, the fan gimmick is quite laughable, imo.
It is, different connector, different pins. I have a graphics card with a dvi port the same way.
The pins are really close together, and right up against the edge.

Although I completely agree, gimmick it is, and a bad one at that.

No that would be stupid, 2 minutes of testing would show the designers it was stupid

The motor would have to completely stop before rotating the other way again, that would cause phenomenal wear and tear as well as being very inefficient at cooling ( thus completely defeat the point of this fancy fan design)

I actually look forward to seeing if this is effective, because its a simple change most fan companies could do to increase effectiveness.

If it doesn't work, no loss

@ tony, dust would be sucked out your case by exhaust fans etc.

hopefully.

It has 96 shaders but I think quite a high clockspeed so maybe just slower than an 8800GT. It also has a 128bit bus as well.

somewhere around 9600GT speeds then, maybe a bit faster.

Still low end gaming, even by last years standards.

Yeah I forgot about the 9600GT but then I get confused because there are about 30 different configs of it. Anyway that's slightly slower than an 8800GT.

I think they're testing out the dual fan on this card before they start sticking it on high end cards. I've tried to have two fans spinning in opposite directions and it just creats hell of a lot more noise.

The fans don't spin in opposite directions.

It just has two fans slightly offset stacked upon one another, but they spin at the same time.

It could potentially work quite well actually.

I agree they're seeing how it goes on low end first.

Ahhhhhh I see how it works now I thought it was one fan spinning one way and the other spinning the opposite direction. I don't think the motor will last too long if it changes direction every 30 seconds.

They are using it on a low end gpu to test out the theory. If it turns out its a bad idea or the fan has a high failure rate at least it won't be on the high end GPU's.

sparkle should just sell the fan and not forcing everyone to also buy the gpu.

so i see it's bad idea cuz there is few seconds after every 30 seconds fan stop working well, imagine if the card is already overheat in this second
