CPU performance examined in Elder Scrolls IV: Oblivion

AnandTech has a detailed review of the impact of cpu speed, features, and brand on the performance of Oblivion. Specifically, the article compares the hyperthreading feature of the Pentium 4 6-series, to SMP on the Athlon 64 X2. The impact of cpu speed vs gpu speed is also examined in this article.

transfer to/from ram, video ram, soundcard, bus stabilty, orchistrating in game features.
just because you have a beast of a video card doesnt mean the info is gonna get to it smoothly.
