5830 Benchmark Results are up (Includes StarCraft II Beta results 0.o)
The 5830 IMO is an impressive card. I'm not sure what the of it will be but so far it does fairly well against a GTX 260 and in 4 out of 9 games beat a GTX275. As far as power consumption is concerned I think they throw caution at the wind to make sure that the 5830 beat current high end parts from their competitor. You can see the results in the link below.
Source Side note: I didn't know there was a SC II beta floating about... |

seems if overclocked it will rival a 5850 but im looking at the ROPs and just like the 5870 the 5830 is ROP starved they cut the shaders by 300 roughly but cut the ROPs in HALF ouch the 5830 is neutered hard but still from the looks it can be overclocked to 5850 speeds without to much issue so i guess it should serve its purpose well as the successor to the 4890 and then some

They had a XFX 5830 that uses a 5850 board (already known) but uses cheaper parts. 4 + 1 + 1 power phase setup, 25.5 CM long, their board used DrMos for MOSFETs (Renesas R2J20602), cooler is a 2 heat pipe solution that looks similar to the 5770/50 egg coolers.
1120 SP, 800 Core, 1000 Memory Q9770 OC 4Ghz Gigabyte P45-UD3R 4GB 800Mhz DDR2 Windows 7 x86 (why 32 bit )5830 (5850) both stock clocks All benches 1920x1200 except Vantage Vantage: 12877P (14117P) Crysis Warhead (4xAA, DX10): 31fps (40) FC2 (Ultra, 4xAA, DX10): 45fps (57) HAWX (8xAA, DX10/10.1): 47 fps (57) WIC (Very High, 4xAA/4xAF, DX10): 42 fps (48) Street Fighter 4 (All High, 8xAA, DX9): 99 fps (122) RE5 (All High, 8xAA, DX10): 71 fps (83) NFS Shift (All High, 8xAA, DX9): 64 fps (76) AB shows core temps at 90-91C in a stated room temperature of 20-23C though they tested in a case. Said case temps got up to 34C. Fan speed in that situation will need to be 50% to keep it cool though they didn't say anything about noise. Pulls the same power as a 5850 in their tests. Using AMD overclocking tool they got 950 core and 1250 memory. I don't know if its reporting correctly, but the tool is showing 3D voltage at 1.125v. They also picked up almost exactly 2000 points on the gpu score in P Vantage. In their location, the 5830 is priced on the high side of the GTX 275. Going off that and looking at the price of the only two GTX 275s that are OOS at Newegg, price would be about $250. Seeing as that is close to the 5850 in price, I think the MSRP will be $225 as I would see that as a sweet spot between the 5770 and 5850.

with better heatinks these things should overclock like hell, it got to 950 on stock voltage with a crap heatsink, . . . . . . . . god dam.
they might be rop starved but it looks like it dosen't effect performance much at all. |

"The design of the entire radiator constructed a bit like the public version series of RadeonHD5700 radiator"
God the reviewer is stupid, its the same cooler! They've been used by XFX since the 4series days. ATI themselfs use them on their test cards.# Its a rubbish cooler I wish they would stop using it.
