Bios Trouble 9600 Pro 256mb

Hi all

Have now tryed all forms of my knowhow, and tested the things that follows:

downloaded bios, atitools, ati softmod, run a lot of tests to see what kind of bios my card might have to be.. found out that 488@208 gave the best result, and downloadet biosdiskette, and all went well..

at least in bios, the only thing who i wonder about is that it says; new size on memory, or at least not the same..

all other, it says radeon 9600 256 mb 488@208, and so far so good..

on restart, the drivers deteckt an shappire radeon 9600 atlantis, and with 128mb
it has 324@202.5, and okey, it might be drivers..

forced the card to accsept radeon 9600 series, but same as last 324@202.5

Well, have tryed powercolor 9600 Pro 256 mb, elixir memory, same as mine
tryed club3d 9600 Pro 256mb, elixir memory
gecube 9800 xt 256mb
all at 488@208

and last 450@210, but same result...

SO.... HELP!!!!

hehehe, have an nice night.. i gonne sleep

System Specs

Dont ever, ever, ever use a 9800 bios again. The only bios compatible with your card are 9550 and 9600 series. Im surprised you didnt fry your card by doing that.

my guess is that the cards bios that are on the sight is really radeon 9600 Pro 128mb with elixir memory, and that is why my card is detected as an 128 atlantis card..
Have tryed softmod drivers, newest drivers from ati, and all deteckt its settings to Shappire 9600 128mb atlantis card.. used orginale cd to change drivers, and forced the card to be radeon 9600 series, and still is has 324@202.5..

Do anyone know what i might do?

Pls help

BIOS DATA is wrong

Hi all

My card is the following spec:

Powercolor R96 256MB D3GN
bios: 25P05AV
Elixir memory: N2D525616BT-5T

Messages when restoring bios:

Restoring old bios (flashrom -f -p 0 \backup.bin

Serial rom
BIOS DeviceID = 4150
ASIC DeviceID = 4150
Exsisting memcfg= 0x6140
New memcfg = 0x7180
Exsisting BIOS P/N = 133-PC2040-30
New BIOS P/N = Radeon 9600 256MB Elixir DDR B8
Romid=12flash type = ST M25P05 /c
65536 of 65536 bytes verified.

SO it seems like the bios on the pages is not:
powercolor 9600 PRO 256MB Elixir, but is really an 9600 128MB atlantis card

At least it is that my os deteckts no matter drivers, changing setup or anything..

help??? or i just have to wait until my bios is uploaded to the pages..

Y all have an nice day

Your memory chip is rated to run at 5ns which equates to roughly 200MHz (400MHz DDR)..

So what u are saying is that it might not be cloced??

corespeed 488 and memory 207 is not that far away, and worked nice an stabile for a long time of testing..

The trouble her is that the card is found as an other card, and detects a shappire 9600 Pro 128mb with 324core and 203.5 memoryspeed..

So what might i do?
