Hmm, 35W TDP cpu, with a 3.5W TDP chipset.
This sounds like the opposite of your standard Atom setup. The following numbers are all guestimated: 50Wh 6-cell battery to get that 9 hours, the whole entire system would have to use less than 5.5W. Given the LCD will be a watt or 2, the cpu and chipset would have to go into very very low power mode. Since the base model will have a 4-cell, possibly 35Wh, I wanna know what magic they are working that gets them 9 hours.

Arrandale ULV is supposed to be around 11-18W, including the chipset/IGP.
"X360"? Cant they think of something more original than a console number?

If cooliris works fine on IGP, then it is enough power for anyone but a gamer. And IMO you shouldnt be using a ULV laptop for gaming!
(Atom on intel chipset runs cooliris in chrome just fine. Or lets say, it works smoothly, but CPU utilisation canna take ne more, captain!) Quote:

I just bought the x340 which is capable of 9hrs battery life on turbo battery mode (cpu locked at 800mhz max, brightness 0 percent) and I love it. Its the size of a macbook air and weighs less. |
