Razer, the world’s leading manufacturer of high-end precision gaming and lifestyle peripherals, today announced the Razer DeathAdder Left Hand Edition, the very first gaming mouse designed with the professional left-handed gamer in mind. The Razer DeathAdder Left Hand Edition was created to meet community demands for a mouse that was purposefully engineered to give lefties the competitive edge, combining a comfortable ergonomic form factor with a powerfully precise 3.5G infrared sensor.

“Leftie gamers have long been requesting that we develop a gaming grade mouse that is designed exclusively for the left-handed gaming community and we really value the feedback we receive from our fans,” said Robert “Razerguy” Krakoff, president, Razer USA. “Not many gamers know this, but I am a southpaw myself and feel truly excited to have a mouse that fits perfectly in my left hand. There is really no substitute for gaming with your naturally dominant hand.”

... sure, why not.

Someone had to do it sooner or later.

Next up, a backwards keyboard with WASD swapped to the numpads location, for easier leftie use

I'm actually a lefty and I can imagine myself having a REALLY hard time using this mouse

@Mussels you're right I think we'll need a lefty razer keyboard to accompany these mice, lol.

i'd always wondered how lefties dealt with that, their mouse and their WASD keys would be right next to each other - or the keyboard would be moved half a foot to the right for gaming, and back for typing

Its normal for their keyboards to be slightly displaced, and they get used to it. A bit like left hand and right hand drive in cars.

I'm a lefty and this mouse i would not buy as those side buttons look like they suck. They should of made a real good left handed mouse with more buttons not one thats near enough a DB which i have and love.

Don't use aswad keys i use the arrow keys and tend to use the old style setup keyboards which give me more keys

For example
Arrows = movement
Delete = reload
End = enter
Page up = heal
\ = night vision
Right Shift = Run
Numpad ins = lean right
Right CTRL = lean left
Numpad 1,4 and 7 = prone, kneel and stand
; or ' = weapon mode
Numpad 2, 3, 5, 6, 8, 9 = weapons.
Other keys like map journal can depend.

All so use a fang for games that have a limitations to key setups.

That actually sounds very viable and awesome.

Unfortunately for me playing a mouse left handed after all these years would be like trying to learn how to write with my right hand .

Thats why i use the Diamondback . After time i've got so used to it i use 3 of the 4 side buttons lol.

This mouse that the OP posted razer are not going to far out their way if at all and if they really wanted to do a left handed mouse they should DO IT RIGHT and not this pos..

I like to see one with loads of buttons and made for a left handed person.

slow in arrival

It's about time
And as for 'not selling well', if you are selling a mouse and are just one of the 100 types available on the market you don't have such a big chance on selling it either, and having the only gaming mouse designed for lefthanded people that make up 10% of the population then you cornered the entire 10% market, although there are obviously mice that have no handedness, and people obviously mostly already have a mouse, that they are used to, but even so I think the chance on a sale might be about equal to other types all things considered.
Although the question remains as to how shops will respond.

It's really weird how there's so little consideration, even the president who's lefthanded (as were half of them as it happens) they give bills and treaties to sign in ledgers with the paper on the right side, surely after having so many lefthanded presidents and having a personal staff that you would expect to notice he's lefthanded they could this day and age have adapted procedures.

Makes you really appreciate that windows has had the option to switch mousebutton assignment around for ages, see, MS can do things right sometimes

Next in line: more monitors that have a setting for the colorblind to shift the colors so they can distinguish them and help them game a bit better, seems a simple software tweak they could add easily to most all monitors (although admittedly I didn't research the most prevalent kind of colorblindness and what colorchanges would be needed)

lefties have dealt with it by having better WASD + other key manipulation...like me! I honestly have only seen one person use a mouse left handed.

Nonetheless a good product to those very very few who decide not to conform. Unlike using a pen or pencil, this is different in that both hands are used, and also the propensity to switch a setup around is rather low seeing how most people would find it an inconvenience to move the mouse over to the other side of the keyboard.

Computers come way after a person has learnt how to write (usually and HOPEFULLY) so they're more inclined to just follow instruction.

For me using a mouse left handed is more difficult than writing right handed LOL.

ugh i could never do that when i was a kid i tried using that, but started using wasd and started loving it, now after 14 years i highly doubt i can switch back haha.

1,2,3,4,5 for weapons is the way to go though no joke i never liked the mouse wheel,
and for lean right and stuff ive always use my mouse buttons depends on the side, right for right left for left i like it.

quite a few razer lovers have been clamoring for a left handed mouse for a few years. so i'm glad they finally got one...and what better mouse than a deathadder...it was my first razer mouse...and i love it.

however the naga is my main gaming mouse now...not only is it made for MMOs but i LOVE it in Bad Co 2. I have my guns/gadgets at my thumb 1-2-3-4!

Uh....how can people be this dense

Am I missing something? Forgot these exist?

Why would I use the idiotic misaligned WASD when I literally have arrow keys designed for that very up/down/left/right purpose?

I have the numpad, home/del/pgupdown etc keys above and the right of the letter block (enter, shift, punctuation etc) to use. I've yet to come across a game that has more controls than I can easily set. Any game that doesn't allow me the option to fix its controls is not worth my disk space.

Also, Dear Razer, one USD does not equate to 1 Euro. Thanks.

I'll just stick to symmetrical mice.

Wasn't this thread about the mice?

Good to see an actual left handed mouse rather than the 'ergonomic ambidextrous' ones that just make everyone feel uncomfortable.

Wikipedia cites an 8 month period for a person to adapt to switching predominantly using the 'other' hand (like can happen when you had an accident and are forced to), but obviously most people have a natural handedness, so even though you might be used to adapt as lefthander you can switch back to natural in at most 8 months it seems, and that's without having a headstart like a lefthanded person has when he does other things besides using a mouse with his left hand.
So yeah you can switch, it would take some time though.

It's about f*cking time!!!!

I'm am lefty gamer and I have always been jealouse that right handers get a huge selection of mouses that fit your hand with comfort. I have tried tons of universal mouses, but nothing ever feels right. I am going to buy this a.s.a.p!
