Blu-Ray Playback Not Working With 10.3b

Everytime I try to play a Blueray movie (any movie), all it does is play 5 seconds of the FBI warning screen and then it stops and an error pops up and says :

"Cannot initialize secure display session- (Error Code = 0122) You may try the following resolution to solve the problem.

1) Incompatible graphics driver. Please make sure your graphics driver meets minimum requirement criteria.

2)Do not use dual-monitor to playback this movie (Clone Mode)

Please run the BD/HD Advisor tool for more information"

I am running all video games fine, no over heating CPU/GPU my PSU is 750watts. Anybody else having similar problems? I haven't tried it on 10.2 ...

it's most likely due to the video card drivers not being up to date. Google "powerdvd 10 graphic drivers requirements"

Fitseries was having the same problem and it was due to a "outdated" video driver.. I know Powerdvd's website has it somewhere.. I'm at work with filters or I'd throw the link at ya.

Yours is most likely due to the fact of drivers that aren't "supported" yet..

Non-HDCP compliant monitor...? Thats odd, your LG should be HDCP, but that is likely why it isn't working.

maybe VGa adapter or something? apparently it checks connetion type and requitres secure like HDMI or DVI. If he is running a VGA adapter it might not support sending extra data and the program might not pick it up correctly as an HDCP monitor. Of course the driver/hdcp problem go hand in hand as it coms like

program>driver>hdcp

I know it's not HDCP whatever, because I was able to play movies before I uploaded to 10.3b

I'm with you... if it's started after you went to 10.3b... It's most likely the reason..

IT IS HDCP but why is the handshake not happening between the video card and the monitor I am not sure other than its probably just the 10.3b's I am running the 10.3a's and blu ray play back is great.... or maybe your running fraps in the back ground which use to disable hi deff blu ray at one time and may still? Good luck tho.

ya they seemed to have changed things not on the list with the whqls. the 10.3a's fixed the problem of my older games just crashing (10.2s were bad for me) the 10.2b's rebroke them and now they work fine on the officials. that and the 10.3whql's are bigger by like 10mb i believe though if thats driver related or random add ons i honestly dont know

I'm pretty sure the driver needs to be WHQL or it breaks Bluray spec. Use 10.3WHQL or wait till 10.4WHQL comes out. As 10.3b is a modified 10.3WHQL, it's certification has been broken. Although DRDNA is running bluray with 10.3a, which is also an ATI modded driver, so I may be wrong.

I just installed the 10.3b drivers, and have no issue with Blu-Ray playback with PowerDVD 9.

Honestly, you might be better off buying a Blu-Ray drive. Most come with at lest PowerDVD9 these days, and you can just pocket the software and re-sell the drive for pretty much what you paid for it.
