See if it is detecting your harddrive in your bios.
If so set your cd rom as first boot device.
Then put in your windows disc and reboot.
It should go to windows setup screen then and you can setup OS.

Do you have a Vista disk? They seem to be more reliable for some reason when it comes to formatting a previous install...then try the Win7 again.

i figured it out. Apparently "format" delets everything including the MBR. Al I did was restart the process. deleted and created a new partition and clicked next for the install.

I dont think it had anything to do with my HDD not being detectd by my bios cause I had this setup for a few years now. But thanks for the help anyways guys i appreciated it!!

I've had a very similar problem with a Velociraptor that I just bought. The bios of one of my rigs recognizes the drive, though another rig doesn't. With the rig that does, I can run it as a second drive, and even Widows 7 will detect it. However, if I try to install Windows 7 on the drive itself, the Windows install doesn't recognize it. WTF?

I suffered for weeks with this issue I got past it by making a new disc and using a different dvd drive. Nothing was wrong with the hard drives

You could try deleting the partition, creating new one and doing "repair MBR" with all from FDISK.

Tried that already. No luck. Drive is going back to the previous owner.
