System Specs

Vintage Hardware and Software

As the title says I am looking for:

-5.25" floppy disks for an IBM PC
-DOS 1.x, 2.x or 3.x on 5.25" floppy
-5.25" Dos programs or games
-An ISA memory expansion card (with memory preferable) for an IBM 5150 PC.
-A color graphics card (ISA naturally!) for an IBM 5150 PC.
-An Intel 8088 (I have an AMD, not interested in that)

Post what you have, I will take them off you! Please clean out your closets.

I got my 5150 out and decided I was gonna restore it, and keep it for a while. I am locating original manuals, software, etc.

I also am going to do a thing where I test to see which processor is faster, the AMD or the Intel, and then post results on TPU to show which is the better company!

I may have some old RAM laying around if you need any.
Can't verify if it's good though. Nothing to test it in. lol

Please take pics of the ram before you go "OMG I found it", because I know some people are like "I have 1mb of ram," and I have to say NO cause the max I can put in this machine is 640k and I already have 64k on the motherboard.

bump for the cause...
Wish I could help with your endeavor -the oldest memory I've got are a bunch of 30 pin simms though. highly interested in your findings as to whether the intel or the amd runs faster in your computer.

One of these days I mean to rebuild a 386 or 486 and put it in a new pimped out case with a window. I'd then take it to a LAN party and show it off!

Do you need 5.25 disk drives?

I have the drives, gotta get them to work with Windows 7 now... Gonna emulate Win 3.1 to get them to work methinks. Post anything here you think I might be interested in!

I do however have a 3 floppy disk version of DOS 6.22. Of course they are on the 3 1/2" floppies.

As sad as this sounds, my computer is too slow to run DOS 6.22. It also has no 3.5 floppy drive !

I figured as much, but I thought I might throw it out there man. thought you might be able to transfer it to 5.25, but your correct man, it would be too slow for 6.22 running a 8088 CPU.

No, his old system does not run SDRAM. It would run memory about 7 or 8 generations before SDRAM. Even before EDO ram

Stinger is correct, my computer cannot use SDRAM. Look around for stuff that might fit in this slot here that is open:
