Upcoming PC Games 2010 list..:(

was just browsing the web wondering what games
are due on the pc this year

i stumbled across this pretty good site

now am i the only one not that excited by the upcoming games on pc this year

the only ones that stand out for me are
toki arcade(old school remake)
rocket knight(again old school sequel)
oh and maybe final fantasy 14 online

i need some enlightment on this matter guys
cause i think slowly but surely i am losing faith in pc gaming

Looks like there will be enough games to keep me happy, I don't have as much time to play any more though.

Starcraft II, the RPG's and some of the RTS's on that list.

With RTS titles aside, the gaming mainstream is now console-centric and if you look further down that list, you will see that all the big Prime Time titles (of which there are many sexy looking ones on the horizon), are multi-platform.

However, if you compare any modern game on either console with it's PC counterpart, the console is left looking and playing like a second rate piece of crap. Console versions of any given 'Prime Time' title are invariably the 'poor man's' next best thing. As the games developers are becoming more and more ambitious (i.e. destructible environments), the gulf in performance and quality is becoming ever broader.

I'm waiting for two games:
1) The Secret World
2) Dreamfall 2

Dreamfall is really the only PC game I ever finished. Every other game I pretty much gave up on or lost interest in.

I for one am not looking forward to Civ5 as more information is slowly leaked, from what i can understand they are taking everything that made Civ 1-4 great and ripping it out in an attempt to make the game more "stream lined" which basically means "casual" or "broader appeal"

basically means that im not entirely happy with the
upcoming game releases

but i think thats just me being to damn fussy

i have fell out of love with gaming on a whole
at the moment

i dunno if its me getting older and being nostalgic(hence why i chose
the two old school games im most looking foward too)

I'd say there's at least 20 games on that list that I think are worth trying and playing..

In the last few years I've been very disappointed with most new titles.

It seems the trend is to aim a title at the lowest common demographic denominator.... and then aim the sequel even lower.

There ARE NO TITLES made for PC gamers anymore... just more and more console cannon fodder that splurges out of the corporate anuses of production house giants who's own exec's probably couldn't even name three of their own titles.

Big Business has done it again taking everything that people played for out of games until there is nothing left buy hollow copy-paste SDK graphics, and equally lifeless purchased sound library audio packs.

Strap-on all the extra shaders, and motion blurs, and zoom shifts you like, yer titles are crap.

Not that it matters - the lowest common denominator is ALSO known as the largest portion of society - quite content to suckle on whatever swill the big boys choose to slosh into their troughs.

The rest of us are a meaningless bunch, as we CANT me milked like brainless cattle for the most mundane of titles... so where would the profit be in that?

I'm not sure I agree on this. Most gamers are casual gamers and don't really care alot, and even if they call themselves gamers they're mostly CS-kiddies (now they play MW though) and WoW junkies. Show them a good game and they won't care.

With that said, I look forward to Starcraft 2 and American McGee's Alice 2.

Possibly because friends lists, and ladder rankings have made them so afraid of offending the masses for fear of alienation that they have lost the ability to even HAVE an opinion of their own... And THATS who modern games are made for - the Sure Sell. Idiots who will buy whatever you pay a pc review mag to TELL them to buy, whenever you tell them to buy it. And you know they will because their friends did and they don't want to be left out.

Anyway - That's my 10c - I'm not interested in an opinion war - That's Mine, its NOT going to change, and anyone else is welcome to theirs.

I've come to terms with PC's place in the gaming world.
The current ports are not as crappy as when the next-gen consoles first appeared but they still feel unsatisfying at times. Nowadays console ports feel like something is missing. Maybe it's the wonky controls or graphics or even the consoly gameplay but there is something that should be there but is not.

A PC's soul perhaps?

Sorry, getting a bit Zen there. At least they've stopped shouting that PC gaming is dead anymore - glad to see Jericho's Walls are still standing.

I'm waiting for Mech Warrior 5. Anyone knows when it's coming out?
As for 2010 : Crysis 2, Homefront, ARMA 2 expansion, Max Payne 3 and whatever games they can throw at us. Yukikaze's list has some games that I haven't of. Nice.
Except Starcraft 2. (After Company of Heroes and Total War, I find most standard RTS unappealing. Starcraft was THE GAME that got me into this life style but the look for the sequel has put me off.)

There is a new tony hawk title, codenamed shred, but as far as i am concerned tony's series were the best skateboarding in the PS1, now i don't know what to say, as skate 3 is said to be the best game for skateboarding.

Considering for FPS related games i keep going back to CSS, even after buying bc2 and mw2 i have no idea,

RPGs i will probably "find the" single player ones and play those

and possibly play the multiplayer ones


cant judge a game before trying
