someone in BST has an Asus M3A79T- Deluxe for sale. a board I still own and use daily. It currently runs a PII 940 and an old X800 for videos , but it ran XFire 4870s and 8GB ram no problem at all. A highly recommended AM2+(AM3 compat) board. from what I read it is compatible with the new 6 cores with a bios update.
great board, find one!

GPU CPU Motherboard PSU etc... that is in no way reflective of their importance, but rather average price. importance goes: motherboard psu cpu gpu ram etc... my point is you want to get the best motherboard you can afford. a crap motherboard can turn a great system, into .... well crap. A good motherboard can make a powerful system run stable, and a low power system more powerful, and more stable. just find a good one is all.

Why not try Be Quiet instead of Basiq? I heard Be Quiet is a relatively unknown but still rather good brand. Or maybe StealthxStream
Be Quiet 530W Pure Power PSU - 120mm Fan Dual 12V ... http://www.novatech.co.uk/novatech/p...600SXS-UN.html As for processor, I would pony up a bit more and try to snag that 955BE at £118: http://www.aria.co.uk/Products/Compo...roductId=39930 Enjoy hunting: http://forums.techpowerup.com/showthread.php?t=111805 Last edited by W1zzard; Apr 30, 2010 at 04:20 PM. |

Great price on the Stealthxstream! My vote is for that power supply. Would fit the bill quite nicely.
