Any new bad virus' effecting XP atm?

I work in a school and something has disrupted nearly the whole network. Most PCs wont logon to the network. Others randomly restart after 5 minutes. The problem started on a couple of PCs yesterday afternoon and seems to have 'spread' today to most of the other PCs/notebooks.

Personally, it looks like a nasty virus has attacked the servers. What do you think?

I wouldn't put it past a student to be messing with the network. That kind of crap happened at my high school a few times.

If it is a virus, that's one heck of a nasty one.

Im not sure tbh. The anti-virus isnt accessable on the PC as its all controlled from the main server(s)

Yeah lol. Weve solved the problem, but it is going to involve restarting ALL of the computers in safe mode with network. Thats nearly 500 PCs/laptops

We think it was a bad update from the ISP and it messed with the user control settings

Thanks anyway guys for the replys
