how to manage trd/performance level for i7 cpu?

I'm building a new pc for a friend of my brother's and the system consists of:

gigabyte GA-P55A-UD4P motherboard with p55 chipset
intel i7-860 cpu
8gb OCZ DDR3 1333/PC3-10666 (OCZ3P1333LV4GK)


Apparently there's a lot of performance gains to be had by manipulating the TRD/Performance level:

But i'm having difficulty a) finding out what the trd is set at in this system, and b) finding a way to adjust it.

I don't see an explicit TRD value in the bios, and cpu tweaker 1.5 and everest ultimate 5.3 both don't display any such value.
So the question becomes...how do i find out what the trd value is, and how do i change it?

I assume you know how to get into the bios, from there.... MIT>memory settings>Dram timing selectable (set to Quick)>move to channel A timimg settings>I was lead to believe it was tRRD.

the only one not on that list is the tWL if that isnt it either I say there isnt any control.

It's should be in Advance DRAM Feature -> A/B Channel memory setting.

Make sure to enable expert memory setting.

CPU-Z, STD tab will tell you the timing table of your memory, include tRD.

there are no more settings in expert, just the option to time A and B seperately.

Maybe because I have an X58 mobo. Most settings grayed out when im not using Expert, and I just checked it myself, tRD is there.

with regards to cpu-z,

unfortunately i checked with cpu-z 1.54 already and no dice for that as well!?!?

memset used to tell you the trd, but when you try to use the program it tells you that it is not designed for cpus with integrated memory controller, and to try "cpu tweaker"...

yet when you use cpu tweaker...there's no trd/static tRead/performance level value either?!

There is no tRD timing for the X58. This is only on Intel FSB systems because you have you have to time up different system speeds across the memory controller.

With X58, Intel did away with FSB, put the memory controller on die, and created QPI for the CPU to talk to other CPUs and/or chipsets. They are independent of each other so there is nothing to match up as far as timing is concerned.
