Based off of what you said, there is no need. So, NO.

Oh, didn't realize the board doesn't SLI. Maybe just look around for a used SLi board. Or, sell off the 285's and pick up a GTX470.

Your card will handle all the games that you listed with ease. NO need to upgrade.

haha EROCKER NO! i want to save these and fold! + 285 vs 470 COUGH i think it'd burn the 470 but not by a large margin. but i'm ok with that.

also i don't think i can sli without have to go DDR3 am i correct. trying to run 16x 16x lanes. if not 8x 8x then board options open up?

IMO, if you're gonna upgrade go all out on the GPU , that 9550 can easily handle a 5970/gtx480 with little or no bottlenecks if you overclock.

If you're a PC gamer.. saying no to overclocking is like being Goku in Dragonball Z and refusing to turn Super Saiyan!!

I reckon the biggest problem you'll have is finding the correct platform for SLI.

The best would be a X48 LGA775 Motherboard if you really want to exhaust SLI's capabilities. Other than that I tried looking in newegg for P45 SLI mobo and wasn't able to find any..

X and P are Intel chipset, they are not capable of SLI (Crossfire only). If he really wants to SLI he will need 750i, 780i or 790i.

Ah there you go, my bad.

Kid.

Linky: 750i

You'll probably need to inquire about the 790i, none of them are instock
