Agreed, and I like that it has a Dual-Core instead of the standard netbook single for this size. Wish it had a better resolution though.

So, if i understand this right, the Atom N550 is a dual core Atom with 4 threads? Or just dual core with 2 threads? Only thing that i don't like about it is 1GB of RAM really. Otherwise it seems like a really badass netbook.

Mostly because of HD acceleration offered on HD4xxx GPU's. And gaming also comes along with DX10 support. I hate it when games are whining about something as basic as TnL these days...

Agreed RejZoR. my g/f has a lappy with GMA 4500HD and it even struggles with WoW. I mean HD4200's 40 shdaers aren't much, but they make the world of difference compared agianst a GMA3/4 series

Well, GMA950 isn't that bad performance wise at such resolutions. What it makes it so crappy is lack of hardware TnL. Which makes me wonder, a DX9 core that doesn't have TnL. Yet we had DX7 cards with full hardware TnL. Back in year 1999 (GeForce 256).
GMA950 + hardware TnL + H.264 acceleration (even through Flash) = pure win GMA950 is decent fast for most of games, hardware TnL would allow it to run certain games and acceleration of H.264 seems crucial these days, especialy Youtube HD videos. It's an internet device and you'd expect it to at least run taht content perfectly. Yet it doesn't. That kinda sucks if videos on Youtube are constantly lagging because Atom can't keep up. Even on 720p at quite crappy bitrates... EDIT: Actually, if i think of it, give us Intel X4500HD inside netbooks. Now that would be much more interesting

![]() If the screen can't display videos at 720p, why would anyone care if it can't play 720p Youtube Videos smoothly? Now what annoys me is that is sometimes stutters when playing even 360p videos from Youtube...
