Help! Integrated USB drive for SD/MMC Card without Removesafely from Windows
My problem is that my pc owns a stupid SD/MMC Drive wich shows up in the taskbar under windows as Remove Safely or Safe Remove (Sicher entfernen in German) small icon with a green arrow.(winxp home sp2)
and my question is if anyone knows how to exclude usb devices from this remove thing in xp or how to deactivate it for this drive (as it is build in)  googled around and tried to get a solution with registry settings but no go   winstupid

I don't think there is any way to exclude it from the safely remove hardware thing, the only thing I can think of would be to try and disable the drive from the device manager if you don't use it. Don't complain too much though, users like me with the Nforce 3 chipset using nvidias drivers with a SATA hard disk permanently have the safely remove hardware icon for our hard drives!

ahrg that *not* nice, as it get on my nerves.
maybe xp powertoys will do the trick, i will try it and repost.... nope powertoys dosen't help at all

Have you tried disabling your card reader from device manager?

yes that would remove this green arrow, but then it's not working anymore and that's not a solution.
I also tried to change the caching strategy by windows,b ut the arrow is still there I must be possible to tell windows that these Drives are Internal and won't be removed at all. May be theres a tool out that changes this state? that's why i'm asking
