Galaxy Ships New GeForce GTX 460 Graphics Series with Industry-First Detachable Fan
Galaxy Microsystems Ltd. a leading global manufacturer of graphics accelerators, today announced the immediate availability of the new Galaxy GTX 460 series of graphics cards featuring the industry’s first detachable fan cooling technology and DirectX 11 support for today’s hottest games.
“Our new Galaxy GTX 460 graphics cards offer out of this world realism and performance at a price that is simply amazing.” said Shane Vance, US Sales for Galaxy. “And the new detachable fan makes it even easier to keep your card in peak condition”. Galaxy custom designed the GTX 460 series using top-grade components like solid capacitors so users get a high-performing, quality product, not a sticker on a reference model. Each card is tested in a static-free, factory environment by experienced technicians to ensure the only those cards that meet the “Galaxy Clocked” standard can be overclocked. For those customers that demand the absolute fastest performance for their money, the Galaxy GTX 460 is also offered in a Super Overclocked edition. ![]() Galaxy GeForce GTX 460 1GB Super OC Edition:

see that's what i'm talking about. it's bout dam time that manufacturers started making overclocked editions that are worthy of being labeled so. This generation i've barely seen any worthy, but galaxy has with the GTX 460.

detachable fan is nice and everything but those plastic locking pins look a bit flimsy, might create some problems for some users. Nice card though

I read a review about the galaxy cards. They run hot and are noisy :/. I was actually interested in getting one.

really? they don't work? didn't know you'd already purchased one and found this out....cause i have this feeling you haven't. If you haven't owned a product then don't bash it.

Can anyone comment on the Galaxy 1GB Super OC GTX 460 and its noise level (or lack thereof)? The HardOCP review says it's extremely noisy, but the levels they describe of being louder than their desk fan sounds odd to me.

yep but that's normal, with stock clocks the tpd is ~150-160 watt and with one 6pin connector you can only pull 150watt that's with you pci-e slot so it can't get enough power from single pci-e connector, 2connector's are nice, than you can oc the shit out of it.

I'd much prefer the "dustbuster" fan design (ie like the one found on reference GTX 470/480 cards).
I was never really a fan of these coolers that dump heat inside the case...

So 4 types of the same 460??? Yeah, that's good for confused customers who will go to ATI anyways, since it's the same price (the 1GB o.c. version is much more expensive than ATI similar), less power hungry, less noisy and faster btw. (ATI 5850)
