Getting a new rig & changing to AMD

Hi, i am going to sell my pc for about 500 euros , i will keep the case, psu, dvd rw, and the hdd for another pc that my brother have.
If you were going to get a new pc that doesn't needed to have max setting in game, medium will do just fine, which were the specs, (must have a ATI card), Thanks for your help

The Patriot mem looks good

I like the X850 a LOT better than the X1600(the X850 was top of the line, the X1600 is lower middle of the line)

I had that mobo and it was VERY nice. If you ever deside to OC its the best.

I just found this bundle on their site, the motherboard & memory is worse, but i can get a x1800 gto, it is worth it?, the cheaper x850 is 230 euros it pass the budget

HOT BUNDLE AMD64 939 3000+ TT 2x512MB - 277 euros
- motherboard Asus A8N5X
- cpu AMD64 3000+ Venice OEM
- Cooler Thermaltake TR2 base em cobre
- 2x 512MB DDR400
+
- X1800 GTO 256MB HDTV VIVO PCI-E P.Color - 254 euros

-The total are 531 but because o know owner of the shop i can get the prices lower

Memory - PATRIOT 2x512 LLK PC3200 DUAL CHANNEL - 124,9
Cpu - AMD ATHLON 64 SOCKET 939 3000+ VENICE OEM - 105.20
Motherboard - DFI Lanparty UT NF4 Ulta-D nForce4 - 128.30
Video Card - X1600XT - 150
The total are 508 and the prices of this one aren't getting much lower

some people like the x1800, but to me it uses too much power and is 12 pipes(x850 is 16)

some say you can unlock the extra 4 pipes some say no. Its a hard desision but the X850 is a better card and the DFI is a better mobo and the Patriot is better mem.
(also a lot of the cheaper Asus mobos dont OC too good. Also its sata 1, DFI is Sata2)

I would go with the DFI X850 unless you have to have the SM3.0(I dont)

i will stay with my old 40 gb ide disk for a while, and i can't afford the x850 with the dfi and patriot, is the 4 pipe unlock (if possible) done by hardmod or softmod?, btw is my 500w raidmax enough for a x1800gto?

I am sorry I misunderstood your post the X850 is about the same as the X1800.

Than its best to get the Package with the X1800. I think because its a GTO you will be able to use your raidmax PS.

I am pretty sure the X1800 unlocks with a softmod, its on this site somewhere.

Let me know how the X1800 works because I was going to get one before i bought my X850XT

If your gonna mod a case for it, I reccomend doing your window nicely, not saying yours sucked, I just reccomend getting about 3 feet long and wide plexi glass, cutting it, mounting it around the hole, squarem whatever it is.

I say save up and wait for the Conroe core to hit. If you stay w/ amd ok, prices are going to go down, alot. If you go for conroe, it will definatly be best bang for the buck
