i'd like to see what GPU they're competing against here - from what i've seen, these cards are pretty much a perfect match for the 5830

Based on it's price point thought and W1zz's review, this card will make ATI stop grinning. At UK£150 it's £100 cheaper than a HD5850. I'm pleasantly surprised. ATI will have to drop their prices now - no doubt. Otherwise NV just stole the game back.

While I'm still mad at Nvidia for their corporate BS approach, this thing had a good performance/price ratio.
I hope it will peel ATI's pricing from the ceiling.

I believe it is slightly faster then the 5830. The 1GB version was I know. I have not read the review for the 768MB version yet.

seems to be in the 5-10% range (for both variants). As far as end users (and not benchers) are concerned, its basically identical.

While the 4x thing is totally exagerated, it does perform right with the HD5870 in Unigine, and right with the HD5850 in Metro2033. Those are really the only things we have with heavy amount of tessellation to give us an idea what future DX11 titles will do.

I'm sure the 4x number came from some in house benchmark they wrote themselves that is so extreme in tessellation only with no other rendering going on so the HD5830 got 0.1FPS and the GTX460 got 0.4FPS, but only for 1ms...

If it would match a 5850 Id bite at that price otherwise Ill wait to see if the ati cards drop in price. I see no since in upgrading right now if it matches a 5830

I think the higher memory bandwidth on the GTX460 is what is allowing it to keep up with the GTX465.

Don't forget, the 768mb version has 24 ROPs and the 1GB version has 32.

Id does if you overclock it to 800MHz or buy one of those max factory overclocked ones
