GTX 480 SLI on PCIe x16 and PCIe x8
Hi,
Straightforward question, is there any performance difference/bottleneck if I run my 480SLI on PCIe x16 and PCIe x8? The card takes 2 pci slot and I'm using pci network card so the only option is to put the first 480 in x16 and the second one in x8. Cheers |

seeing that the difference is minimal, I'd say not really, at least nothign noticible. |

Careful with this, it isn't always as easy.
On a lot of boards the x8 or x4 slot isn't run off the primary PCI-E lanes, and a lot of times it isn't a PCI-E 2.0 slot, but a 1.1 slot. I'm not sure about how your board does it, but if the slot is a 1.1 slot(check with GPUz with a card connected) then in the review posted earlier you want to look at the x4 results, which still aren't that bad(93%). If it is a 2.0 slot, then you are good to go.
