Is it worth "upgrading" to a board with USB 3.0 and SATA 6 gb/s?

Like the title says. Is it worth it at all at this point or is it just a waste of money right now?

I am asking because i was looking at some new boards and the Rampage III Gene caught my eye and right now i am using the Rampage II Gene. The only differences seems to be is that it has:
upgraded sound,no IDE,USB 3.0,SATA 6gb/s,bigger heatsinks,improved looks

The heatsink doesn't matter to me as i am going to put water or a Thermalright on my Gene II.So it mostly comes down to is the newer USB and SATA worth it?

Do you have any USB3.0 or SATA 6Gbps devices? Do you plan to get any in the lifetime of the motherboard?

If you answered no to both of those, then you have your answer.

SATA 6Gbps is pretty useless except for the really really fast SSDs, so I wouldn't even worry about that.

USB3.0 might be more useful for most sooner, but I think I would just get an add-in card if I ever get a USB3.0 device.

i answered no to having any devices. But if i will buy any in the life of the board it is unknown at this moment.
I am thinking about my b-day and Xmas building a new cruncher but use my Gene II in it and get a Gene III for the main rig. Maybe then it will be worth it

I dont upgrade as often as others here. But I would wait for the motherboard. Wait for like a new cpu type to come out to get one. The most useful a device could be for USB 3.0 is a flash drive or external hard drive. With that said, usb 2.0 is still fairly quick for those. Id save your $300 for now for a worthy upgrade. Get a new video card for your bday or something
