HD4870 errors on new build

Ok I just upgraded my CPU-MOBO and Mem. and on my new setup I keep having issues with my HD4870. during a game (or even just windows desktop for that matter) the screen will freeze for a few seconds then go black and recover with a message in the taskbar saying the drivers have stopped responding and that it had recovered. This card was rock solid on my old build.
I have ran memtest on the memory and ran several passes with no errors.
could the card have gotten damaged? or is it possible to have an issue with the new motherboard?.

all drivers are up to date from the manufactures websites or are the same ones I had on the previous system.

I have tried 10.6 and 10.5 drivers. currently on 10.5

old system:
Phenom 9850be - 2.5 ghz
Asus M3a78-Em mobo
4gigs ddr2

new system
phenom II 965BE - 3.4ghz
Asus M4A89TD Pro Mobo
4gigs G. Skill DDR3
630W PSU

All components running at stock speeds

You might try a fresh install of windows... i've heard of problems like this when upgrading mobo/cpu

This would happen with me when I was messing around with my Crysis .cfg's..Most likely it's the game that you are playing is corrupted. Either you edited some files or did some modifications, either way you have to reinstall the game. This is how I fixed the issue...On a side note, is it all the games or just this game in particular? If it is all the games, best Drivesweep all your drivers and reinstall your drivers. I would stick with 10.4a's since they are the most reliable.

Hope this helps.
