Zotac Readies Non-Reference GTX 460 with 2 GB Memory
Zotac is yet another AIC up with a GeForce GTX 460 based graphics card that features double the memory size, with its new 2 GB GDDR5 model. Zotac's new card uses a non-reference design PCB, and makes use of a slightly modified Accelero TwinTurbo Pro VGA cooler from Arctic. Featuring the same configuration as the 1 GB model, the card places 16 GDDR5 memory chips across a 256-bit wide memory interface to achieve that capacity.
The cooler makes use of a dense aluminum fin array to which heat is conveyed by four 6 mm copper heat pipes. Air is circulated by two 92 mm fans. Zotac used four display outputs (of which two can be used simultaneously), which includes two DVI, and one each of HDMI (full-sized) and DisplayPort. Like every other GTX 460, the GPU has 336 CUDA cores to work with, a 256-bit wide GDDR5 memory interface, and DirectX 11 support. There's no word on the availability or pricing. ![]() Source: Expreview |

That card looks pretty bad ass, though running 2 in SLi would be a little bit of a challenge.

Looks cool but abit too much for a GTX 460. They could have released a GTX 480 or something with 2GB memory and Arctic Cooling.

Come to think of it, why hasn't anyone released a GTX 480 w/ 2gb memory and AC cooler?
But I agree, that 460 looks badass. |

A GTX 480 w/ 2GB and an AC cooler would definitely be a hit!

I like the Zotac Amp edition with the Zalman cooler personally.
And I might be wrong here, but I believe if they wanted to add more memory to the GTX480 it would have to be moved up from the current 1.5GB to 3GB, I don't think 2GB is possible with the 384-bit memory bus.

Lets just hope they make the GTX 485 or 495 with 3GB of VRAM then.

Yea, that would be a killer. Haven't seen any non-reference GTX 480s except for Zotac's Amp, dunno why vendors wouldn't just stick a AC cooler on top.

They got water cooled ones.
http://www.overclockers.co.uk/showpr...56&subcat=1750 I agree though, the AC cooling solution that is on the Sapphire 5970 4GB would surely do the job on te GTX 480 and that's quieter than a reference 5870 i believe from reviews. |

Zotac,
Got the cooling, got the memory, but you forgot to put the second 460 chip on there... |

As cool as this thing looks, I really don't think it's going to beat a 470. Especially since most 470s can OC to 480 level anyways.
