Introduction (I didn't see a open thread assigned to that task)
Hi. I accidentally found your forum earlier today, and I've been reading it for the past 5-6 hours. I am *completely* new to modding, and I just had a friend custom build me a brand new computer, but it's not really LOOKING like I'd hoped, so I'm here for advice/instructions on WHERE TO START.
![]() I figure, the best thing I can do is introduce myself and my computer. So, here we are: ![]() ![]() ![]() and here's one of me real quick.. I'll go fix up my profile shortly. ![]() and here's my cave (woe-is-me if I have to ever leave my cave!) ![]() ![]() Ok, so, what I want is to change out the red fans for BLUE led/uv fans, add some uv cathcodes, and redo the shielding on the wires that are contained, as well as clean up what's not, into nice, UV blue, glowing packages of order and wondrous beauty. The thing is, I have NO idea about computer parts, so I need to ONLY touch the things that I really can't mess up too badly. I'm not an idiot, but I certainly don't want to be messing with things that are easily messed up. I'm pretty confident with plugs and such, I can do basic electrical wiring like putting in a new bathroom lighting fixture, just never attempted to translate any of my mechanical skills into technical stuff. All I want is pretty, it performs wonderfully just the way it is now. It does not get hot ever, and it has absolutely no problems, I actually love it... except that it's ugly. Help? Please? |

Hey first of all welcome to tpu! Seems black panther will av another friend! Well its a nice community here, you'll get lots of help! Well I don't find it ugly like you said, once you own a scout sniper case, it can't really go wrong! A lil bit of hiding with the cables could do, for sure! What do you want to do with it? are you into overclocking? Maybe you could just list the parts you have in your pc, that would help to have better ideas of whats and nots.

Heeloooo and welcome!
![]() To me it doesn't look that bad, but everything I have is ghetto so I really shouldnt say anything about looks. .( Oh, and fill in the system specs, it'll make everything easier.

![]() I want to: 1. hide all the loose little wires inside something pretty that glows UV blue 2. change all the grey/black braided sheilding to UV blue. 3. change the fans to blue led/uv blue 4. add lighting, probably just UV, but maybe some blue led too. The boy who built it for me has confirmed that that blue port fan in the middle isn't really even needed since I'm not a gamer, I will never have a heat issue with this machine. My case has two places to mount two regular fans on the side (the side that's off of it in those pics), so I'd rather do that and take that one just sitting in the middle looking ugly out (I told him he could have it back... it's REALLY loud anyway). basically, I just want to make it glow blue and ultraviolet, and look orderly. |

Well tbh, I'm not into UV stuff so I'll best just leave it to other guru's here on tpu, there are a lot of them in each domain. Well OC'ing is an art in itself, if you aren't into it, best stay that way, cause once you're in, it gets addictive and you'll never stop! Well if you aren't into gaming, thats a really decent build you've got. For sure, you could lose that blue fan, the default cooling in the scout can handle itself. One more thing I would do is lose that stock intel fan on the cpu, have something much pleasing on the eye, especially since you care about looks. But then again, if you aren't gonna overclock that machine, I see no use for it really, especially in the scout, where space at the top seems pretty limited for high aftermarket coolers.
Go take a look in the case gallery, there are some scouts there, maybe you could get an idea of how to better hide these cables.

Thanks for the advice, lol, yeah, I do NOT need another addiction that keeps me at my desk, I barely shower or sleep already, and I lose track of what year it is, much less the day of the week. XD
Yeah, I'm not a gamer, though I'd like to learn, since ALL my friends do it, and it kinda leaves me out hanging a lot. Just never could process the complex combinations and series of keystrokes that translates into making a character do much of anything besides move forward and backwards in a straight live. I think it somehow requires a mathematical mind... something I just don't have even the slightest inclination to develop. I'm a thinker/writer/poet, not a calculator. I, more or less IM, chat, surf deviant art, online manga, and multiple social networking sites 20/7 (I sleep 6-9 hours every other day, so it's not 24/7... see, I can sorta do math after all!). I live, literally, in my room. My room is the most amazing place in the world, and I love it here. I have my technology, and I have a nice bed, and I have club lights and music. It's like a rave in my cave. I could probably figure out MOST of the things I want to mod in my case on my own, but I'm socially starved, and was hoping I'd maybe make some friends here by throwing myself into the mix. I tend to get banned from forums, so I have to find new ones to hang out in periodically, and I was reading this one, and giggling (ghetto mods, lol), and if something makes me laugh, I'm inclined to associate with it further. Thus, I have arrived! XD |
