random freezes wile playing 3d apps

Hi my computer is randomly freezing I know it is a hardware problem because I re formatted my computer just last weekend. It locks solid and the sound repeats its self and nothing moves it is not a heat problem because my computer runs around 36 idle and about 47 under load

its what i would describe as simple instability probem.. the classic type thing u look for after tweaking.. something dosnt like the speed it running at..

hello

if you are running a nvidia card there is a problem which does this - it's a malfunction of the drivers, the problem being nv4_disp.dll - this brings the card into an infinite loop which it can't get itself out of and locks the pc up, along with repeating the sound over and over.

i recommend you uninstall your graphics card drivers and install the new ones.

i hope this helps

if its all at stock.. the classic symtom of instabilty still fts.. i have seen it many times but usually after some tweaking..

u are on the right path.. something isnt quite right.. one part dosnt like another part or something equally silly..

is everthing showing okay in device mangler.. ????

still leaves u the problem of finding out what part is causing the problem.. swopping out and slowing each piece down below default speeds is the only thing u can do..

i dont think its your hardrive.. but u need to check for file corruption.. which isnt easy to do.. but data corruption usually shows up during game loads not while its actually running..

"i know my cpu is not doing it because i ran prime 95"

thats a mistake many people make.. u cannot guarantee it isnt your cpu just cos it runs prime..

the only real guarantee it isnt your cpu would be to replace it and still have the same problem.. and even that isnt 100% he he

if it is your cpu.. just for arguements sake.. running it faster or on a lower core volatge should make the problem worse.. running slower.. even well below default speed and possibly raising the core voltage should make it better..

if u play this kinda game with all the individual components some kind of worse/better signs should show up..

if whatever u do with an individual component dosnt make the slightest difference.. its a sign to look elsewhere..

if its piece of hardware u cant speed up or slow down.. well u cant play this sort of game.. but messing with speeds with a problem component.. will definitely make things better or worse.. some kinda change will happen..

with components u cant speed or voltage change.. swopping out is the only answer..

i aint talking overclock problems here.. just a way of finding the dodgy component when it isnt easy just to swop out..

messing with speeds and voltages will alter things one way or another.. if u can..

even if u make it worse.. u at least know u are on the right track..

I have done every thing the only thing that is left in software and I think I know what is doing it now it is the only thing that is the same scence it has been reformatted and that is my copy of xp I have a non legitimate copy and I think that’s what is doing it is just like it is not compatible with this computer so I am thinking on trying to reinstall xp and just crack it and don’t put my version on and see if that fixes it and it is not my psu because it is stable on it voltages

yes.. i have spent countless hours trying to fix PCs that aint behaving themselves..

the fix usually turns out to be simple.. finding the probem is the hard part.. i dont go for the dodgy windows theory but then again i have tried many possible fixes i havnt gone for when everthing else has failed.. he he he

when u fix it let us know..
