Grounding Problem with Microphone

I have a friend who when he talks in ventrilo there is an awful humming sound. I told him to touch his case while talking and it completely gets rid of the humming/buzzing. From what I've read, this is a grounding issue. It's a USB mic I believe. Are there any remedies he can do with random things that might be around his house already? If not, what does he need to get to fix this?

check the header on the mobo make sure its plugged in all the way. if it is it might be EMI he can get a ferret core to put on the wires that might help the issue.

I believe he meant Ferrite

IF he is handy, he could extend the ground of the front I/O panel PCB and use an eye and a screw and ground it to the chassis somewhere.
