This N550 looks nice. Anyone knows what GPU is it using? It really makes me wonder why isn't Intel using X4500HD GPU's on netbooks. Hardware video acceleration, superb performance @ 1024x600 res, better DX9 support (at least it has a proper HW TnL unit). GMA950 is ok but nothing to brag about really. X4500 woud be kick ass.

There must be something wrong with the resolution. 1024x600 sucks bad. You can't even see the "OK" button of windows'. Most netbooks has 1366 x 768.

the new intel CPU's have the video card integrated, so the GPU is part of hte CPU

the wha? windows can scale to whatever resolution you use, so i'm sure these 'ok' buttons will appear just fine on screen... maybe you're too young to remember when 800x600 and 1024x768 were common resolutions.

I'm aware of that Mussels, but even Atom N450 was using the same thing as GMA950, it was just integrated on a CPU.

Really? Most netbooks for sale are 10.1" 1024x600... hardly any are 1366x768. Now, if you were to say "most 15.6" laptops has 1366x768", you would be right. Netbooks? Definitely not. You need to step up to at least an 11.6" netbook to get that resolution. Very few 10.1" run that resolution. Check your facts.

I don't know model numbers - but i have had 2 brand new acer aspire ones bought within the last year die... one the whole keyboard/pad assembly simply stopped working... the other the hdd went bad i guess, and windows started crashing as so many files were "corrupt" - but i couldn't reinstall because after it copies the files to the hdd , it can't read them (corrupt)

...long story short, that left a huge bad taste in my mouth for aspire one line, though i love acer and have monitors, laptops, etc through them - i don't see myself going near another aspire one.

I have an Acer Timeline AS3810TZ-4880. So far it's been great! Picked it up for $349 at Microcenter. Much better than a netbook!

Id rather see more dedicated gpus then more intergrated with netbooks. Dual core is a good start.

what the hell are you talking intel GPU super performance ??

and btw if acer want somekind of gaming performance than it will surely be better have dedicated GPU, and intel atom really suck at gaming
