Arctic Intros Accelero Xtreme Plus VGA Cooler, Supports GF100-based Graphics Cards

Arctic Cooling silently introduced the Accelero Xtreme Plus VGA cooler. Built as an extension of the same essential design of the Accelero Xtreme, the Accelero Xtreme Plus supports the latest NVIDIA GF100-based graphics cards, such as GeForce GTX 480, GTX 470, GTX 465. The main heatsink is designed to handle thermal loads of up to 250W. The cooler is also compatible with the mounting plates of older some Accelero models that give it compatibility with other popular GPUs, importantly support for Radeon HD 5000 and GeForce 9/GTS 200 series with the VR001 mounting kit.

The main heatsink consists of a copper-made GPU contact base from which five heat pipes convey heat to two blocks of aluminum fins that are cooled by three 92 mm fans. A patented cooler shroud design works to dampen noise generated by the three fans. The three fans spin at speeds between 800 and 2,000 rpm. The heatsink measures 290 L x 104 W x 56 H mm, weighing 622 g. Included in the package apart from the main heatsink are heatsinks for the memory chips and VRM. The Arctic Accelero Xtreme Plus is priced at US$ 65.95 or 54,95 €.

I wonder if it would fit without removing the stock unisink for the vrms/mems.. That would involve ripping the stock fan off, but the end result would be sweet and tight

the nicest thing about this is that you could buy one of the cheapest GTX 480 and replace the cooler with this one and you'd still pay less than if you bought a top card from EVGA or other brands, with possible better cooling performance.

Well yeah, it's been in their site for a while now.

The only cards in the HD 5000 line that are supported are the 5800s. Still waiting for something for the HD 5770/5750, other than the Thermalright HR-03. Also, AC has already done coolers especially for all the other cards mentioned.

So how does this differ from the Accelero Xtreme designed specifically for the 5870? VRM cooling? The Plus is also a few bucks cheaper.

Great, another 3 -4 slot cooler, make a god damn dual slot cooler for once.

But apart from my negative comment, the cooler does look awesome!

Looking at the bottom with the heatpieps taking so sharp turn, looks like it's designed with stock unisink in mind. You could always chech the installation PDF on their site.

GTX 460 doesn't need a cooler like this... Plenty good silent and cool options out there as stock.

Xtremes have always been 3 slots, doubt this thing is any different (although it looks taller than the ones before).

It differs with the mounting holes.

Stock cooler is dual slot No point is making a noisy and hotter dual slot cooler, when you can make cooler and quieter tripleslot.

Pro is for GT200 cards, this is for GF100. No NVIO chip in Fermi cards -> core is more to the left -> mounting base needed to be moved more to left.

I tried hard to resist, but that's what she said.

This should offer some serious cooling for those who need a lot of graphics power in a quiet computer.

Slap this MONSTER on a GTX460, up volts, OC the hell out of it, save cash instead of going GTX480. But how about releasing a similar performing dual-slot cooler
