GTS 450 Review Leaked

GTS 450 is designed to take the place of GTS 250, targeting the mainstream graphics market.
Though GTS 450 was beated by the GTX 260+, it still outperformed Radeon HD 5750.
With a simple cooling solution, the loaded/idle temperature was only 72/38 degrees, and the card operated with an unnoticeable noise level.

Built with 40nm GF106 chip, GTS 450 features 192 stream processors, 32 texture units, Core/Proc/Memory clock of 783/1566/3608MHz.
GTS 450 was beated by the GTX 260+, it still outperformed Radeon HD 5750.

According to the test, GTS 450 delivers an amazing overclocking performance. When the voltage was adjusted to 1162mv, and frequencies improved to 1002/2004/4000MHz, the card scored P12502 by 3DMark Vantage, showing an improvement of 22%.
niiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiice. thanks for posting that.

oc potential looks sweet as, 1ghz/2ghz across the core, and 4ghz on the memory is pretty standard but good to see. also for those who havent checked the review yet;

stock vantage P score was 10187, stock GTX260+ score was 11566, so overclocked it beats a 260 by ~1000 points. not half bad for a card expected to cost 130-150$ and can be low profile.

can't wait to lay my hands on a low-pro version of this card

i can see this becoming the defacto physx card when low power versions start popping out otherwise its performance lvl is to close to a gts 250 if we want to work out overclocking performance we all know the gts 250 can beat a 450 just dosent have DX11 support but DX11 at decent resolutions will be a slide show so its moot. to little to late in terms of market and the only thing it has going for it is the possibility it might be avaible in low power versions since the Fermi architecture does handle Physx a bit better this would probably be an ideal senario for this card that and if it overclocks well it might prove to be a good Folder

i don't get it why they test it against a 5750, it's pretty clear it is faster, by specs and stuff

its tested against a 5750 because thats the price segment both cards are in its not performance wise we test gpus its PRICE wise you should EXPECT a $600 gpu to outperform a $450 gpu in this case there same price segment $100-140 as such the 5750 was compared to the 450 that simple

also ppl should look at this a bit more in perspective Nvidias Mid range GPUs are STILL only equal to the High end GPUs from 4 nearly 5 years ago example the 450 = oced 250 the 250 trades blows with the 8800GTX so even today a 4 year old GPU keeps up in terms of gaming in the mid range another way to look at this is

4850 = 5750 = gts 250 = 8800gtx pretty much a the bottom half of the GPU lineups havent really changed in 3years performance wise

well im willing to be it will perform a little better with driver releases but the fact that it cant beat a 260 at stock makes me wonder. sure mem bandwidth on the 260 is higher but clocks across the board are lower. very dissapointing. was thinking bout getting one but know now I may as well wait it out for the 475/485's

I think with this review, this card should be priced 10$ higher than 5750

with that review it loks as though the card is missing mem chips and mosfets meaning there IS a design for a 455 card with the 2 extra mem chips and 6 extra mosfets! schweet!

erm but isn't the GTS450 only suppose to replace 9800GTX/GTX+ and GTS250?

but overall i think it looks fine if it can almost keep up with the GTX260/260+ ^^

its replacing the pricepoint of the GTS250, but with 192 cuda cores and some agressive pre-overclocked cards, these will hang with GTX260's easy, which is a testament given how beasty a GTX260 core 216 is.

yeah i think spec wise it's no surprise those reviews are showing the gtx260 being faster. since this was a gtx250 replacement it's fine, seems to beat the 5750 but not the 5770 so exactly where nv targeted it? they've been pretty accurate with their targeting lately, I think ati's line up has been on the market too long lol.

Was browsing newegg, noticed that they added the GTS 450 to the search list and there's already 6 models in stock ranging from $130-140. Then I searched google news and found there's still been no official announcement or reviews on the 450. What's going on here? Did newegg mess up or is Nvidia keeping this low key? Oh well, even if it's only marginally better than the 5770 it's still another option and will probably force 5770's down a bit before its replacement launches.

Oh, also pissed that the Asus 450 uses their DirectCu heatsink on the 450 while the 5770 got the junk CuCore heatsink...

Still waiting on a TPU or HardOCP review of the card. Hope it's an awesome budget card.
