Windows 7 ClearType Text Tuner
I went into Display in the Control Panel and started playing with the ClearType Text Tuner. It reminds me of an eye exam where it keeps asking you which you like best. Anyway, I don't like what it's done and small text is very blocky and weird to read. I can't seem to undo whatever it is I've done. I've unchecked Turn on ClearType, I've tried different settings...how can I get it back to default?

After putting in the new settings, did you try refreshing what you were looking at?
I just done it to make my text darker and a bit bolder ( although now I'm not sure if I like it! lol ) and it didn't change anything until I hit refresh. |

Yes I tried many things and none of them worked to undo what using that tuner did to my fonts. I ultimately did a system restore which wasn't a big deal since I just reinstalled Windows 7 the other night. That put everything back to normal thankfully.

I know exactly what you mean, its like you can never be happy with what you tweak it to, and then you know its different and cant get it back to default. Let me know if you figure out how to reset it. I forget every few months for a while that I hate how my text looks, then I remember.

My text is easier to read but at the same time... I guess it stands out TOO much. Also have you guys used colour calibration on windows before? If you think this is fun and games boot that up and start adjusting your screen Will take you several tries to get it how you want, and then at the end the same thing, do you actually like it?Very useful if your screen is overly red like mine is. |
