My XFX5770 seems hot .
I ran crysis benchmark all maxed out no AA . not bad at stock speed . 29.54 FPS avg .
Oh RAM on card gets HOT 80C before I put the fan ! GPU 70C and GPU shader 70C as well . Not bad for stock cooling not to mention there are no HS for the RAM chips ! How long would it take to fry the ram if they were cooking at 80c ? or higher ! |

That's normal for GPU temps really, not sure about ram, during gaming if you touched the ram just how hot does it feel?
If its touchable then you should be okay. If not buy some ram heatsinks : ] |

Yeah the ram chips will burn you . You can not touch them ! I can not stand the jet like sound from that thing . I will bump it to 70% next time I bench but it is not the GPU so much as the RAM they are what get hot bad hot !

That is XFX for you. Skimping out on the cooler, making things cheaper. I had a reference 5770 and the XFX 5770 that looked like a reference model and the reference model ran considerably cooler. The temps are up there but within range of normal.

My Asus 5770 ran at over 80C full load before I lapped down the rough heatsink base and upgraded the TIM. It was stable at that temperature but didn't overclock at all (and it's still lackluster at 72C).

Have to agree with Zen
Most hardware nowadays come with the TIM badly applied to the cooler. I would just take off your current TIM on your 5770 and apply a new one |

But then again 80C doesn't sound that hot for a graphics card and if it displayed 80C while stressed then its normal.

Well if you're worried about the temps just buy a new cooler and add some heat sinks to the ram. But if you read some of the 5770 reviews the temps displayed are similar to your temps
