My new toy.

Well I was talking to Easy Rhino the other day about this and he said that it was "fail". Honestly I didn't know one way or another if he was right but it was already shipped. Anyway if it did suck I could just sell it. Yesterday I got my new R.A.T. 7 mouse in and to my surprise East Rhino was wrong. Dead wrong.....Thank G-d!

Anyway this mouse is awesome. The build quality is great and is hands down the most comfortable mouse I have ever owned. I was nervous as hell honestly. It looked to cheesy to be any good but man is it great! Check out some of these pics! If you have any questions ask away!

WHat the hell did the shipper do to it? It looks like it's been sledgehammered.

Nice! I have a question. When you are at desktop, if you pick up the mouse up, then back down, does the pointer on the screen move towards the bottom right?

I never pick it up. But I tried what you said and yeah it did. Maybe 1/4". Why?

Just wondering. I tend to pick up my mouse from time to time and it just bothers me when playing FPS's and stuff like that. That's just me though. That is one badass looking mouse!

Now I know what you are talking about.
Well when I pick it up it moves down. However when I put it down it doesn't move again. If you have some spare cash I recommend this thing.

Hmmmmmm maybe I spoke to soon.

Just gave BC2 a go and for some reason it sometimes "sticks" when I push her to the right. The mouse itself doesnt stick. The sensitivty. Its like the mouse hit a wall or something.

Anyway I just updated the driver and Ill post back with results. Its weird because it works fine everywhere else. Just in BC2

picked this up a few weeks ago. love it. It does move a bit when you pick it up, but not enough to mess you up ingame (or me anyway, I pick it up all the time) it also likes to jitter when I have my bass turned up (and music running) which is a pain if I'm ingame (any game) luckily I usually wear a headset.

haven't had that bfbc issue though, so it's not universal (I'm running stock drivers)

I have been looking at one of these for myself. I currently use a G5 and find it is a bit big for my hand. I assume the RAT 7 can be set short? Also, have you tried the pinky rest? Does this work ok or not?

Looks like a Decepticon. I would bet on a similarly styled keyboard coming out pretty soon from the company.

DO NOT DO NOT DO NOT BUY THIS MOUSE!!!

I've had one, and it is the worst piece of shit ever made. I have no idea how anybody can stand to use it.

I put a fairly large post over at [H] slamming it (for good reason) and don't want anybody else to get screwed over it.

Quote:
I've used this R.A.T. 7 for about a half hour, and I have a few things to say. Namely, it's horrible.

1. The adjustment for the angle of the left side of the mouse (thumb area) will move easily even if it's tightened down to full. It moves through the full range of motion. After about 2 minutes of use, it will move from all the way out to all the way in from the light pressure that it takes from using it.
2. The back and forward buttons are too long, and the back button is placed too far back on my hand. If I move the palm rest back far enough so that they feel better, I lose the precision aim button, and the pinky area is all wrong.
3. The pinky rest hurts my pinky worse than nothing else being there. There is also no natural place for your ring finger to rest. I've got a horrible hand cramp that I haven't ever gotten from a mouse, especially this quickly. Way to turn this mouse's main selling point for me into a pain in the ass (pinky).
4. The DPI rocker is nearly impossible to push forward with your fingers while they are properly positioned on the mouse.
5. The tracking is horrid. Not only does it go down and to the right while lifting and repositioning, but it is inaccurate to the point of many mis-clicks even at 1800DPI.
6. The thumb wheel is just a stupid idea. It is horribly placed, and you either have to move your entire hand to the right on the mouse in order to be able to use it, or your thumb hits your index finger before you can even scroll, or you can point your thumb and scroll with the tip of your finger, but it is very uncomfortable.

Long story short, back to Best Buy it goes. Only took me a half hour to realize how bad of a fit this mouse is for me. Pardon the ergonomic pun.

Either I've got hugely deformed hands, or my clone was used to mold the shape of the Deathadder. I'm off to search for a good deal on a 3.5G.

I'm glad somebody has had a positive experience with it. I want to love that mouse, I really do.

I just didn't want a bunch of people on TPU to go out and buy this when it has numerous widespread issues.

It doesn't have "numerous widespread issues" don't be making things up because you don't like it personally. As a matter of fact it has a TON of positive reviews. Even the other users on this site love it. You my friend are in the minority.

Yeah and I read a lot of people who love it on there along with people who dislike it. Only issue I will agree with is the "cursors" jump of which I would not have noticed unless someone pointed it out. Would you like me to start post reviews?

Go right ahead. All I know is the mouse that I got had some pretty obvious design flaws, and I would like people to look into them before purchasing to make sure that they won't be affected by them.

One of the worst ones being if you pick up and put down your mouse ever to re-position it, this mouse won't be for you because of the Twin-Eye sensor. Mine also had extremely erratic tracking overall on any sensitivity/dpi.
