Just a quick question about LCD monitors

Ok,I have a question for you dear fellow geeks
It well may sound totally stupid, but I think it will help others too browsing this forums that its not 100% clear for them..
Im planing tu upgrade my LCD,mostly because there is a big grey mark on it (the producer said that its apparently due to pressure damage) and also I've got a nice new MSI GTX 480 and want to see it doing wonder on higher resolutions
My question is that DO YOU NEED TO HOOK UP A FULL HD MONITOR WITH THE VGA CARD VIA A HDMI CABLE TO HAVE A FULL BENEFIT FROM THE FULL HD MONITOR?(speciffically I mean a full bebefit of picture clarity)
Now you may say that was really stupid question, but then why you see so many LCDs for instance a 22" LCD with full HD resolution of 1920x1080,but when you check the tech spec. it doesnt have a HDMI conector..??
Thanks in advance

No. HDMI or DVI will work for whatever resolution the monitor is. VGA will work as well, though the picture quality may not be as good.

Thanks for a quick response of course VGA is irrelevant as its quite old and every one is using the DVI.so DVI or HDMI wont make a difference in clarity on HD resolution?the reason I ask because here in england a 22" full HD LCD without a HDMI port stars at about £120,while one with a HDMI port will cost you from about £149 upwards(edit:its actually about £160)..now why would I spend extra £25 - £30 if Im not planning to use the HDMI connection for sound..right?If picture - wise DVI is just as good as HDMI..

As long as you feel you will never want to use HDMI with that monitor in the future then I say go for the cheaper one. The only reason you might want to buy the one with the HDMI is for future compatibility... say you wanted to hook up a DVD player to the monitor...
