Steam/BorderLands ??

I have borderland game bought DVD version a while back. Never played the expansion games. Want to download expansions from Steam. How do you add game (DVD) to Steam. Right now Steam will launch game, but thats it. Wont download expansions because I need full game in Steam.

Is there a way around this ? I'm not going to buy game again just to play expansions. I'm one that likes to get disc in hand not download but
wtf.
