Weird problem with ultimate defrag
I've been using UD for a while now, and have been having a problem recently. Basically it won't finish the high performance section of the drive. It does the archive, and starts the high performance section (usually) and stops, acting as if it were complete, ending the defrag process. So I have a pretty well built archive section, but the remainder is just sitting in the middle tracks, unfinished.
I contacted disktrix, and asked them for some help with this problem. They suggested running in safe mode to see if another process was interfering with the defrag process, causing it to shut down early. I did this and it had the same problem. It wouldn't complete about the last 40% of the compiling process. I checked my various settings to see if something was causing an early shut off, and I can't find anything that seems to do that. I'm not sure what's up at this point. I keep thinking that some .dll that indicates to the application when it's done with it's process is getting cued too early in the defrag process, or some other reg key is doing something similar. But it sucks to have what is clearly a nice piece of software not working the way it's supposed to. Anyone have any ideas or clues as to what may be going on? |
