Hopefully that'll solve it. Aside from that I don't know what else the problem could be at this point.

I don't see any problem really, your textures look as good as mine.

Are you seeing any difference in textures now?

the dll fix did the fix now
also it also works well now I picked 8X AA instead of 4X (strange)

only thing is the frame rate is capped
doesn't go over 64
ever
and when I pick settings my display device comes up as an 8800GS

That looks better. Yeah, the game is capped at 64 for some strange reason.

Yup that dll fix detects all ati cards as '8800GS'...

Just max out all graphic settings and it'd be fine.

The frame settings I guess they're capped just as Fallout 3's were.

In Fallout even if vsync was disabled it got capped at my monitor's refresh rate. Perhaps that's the issue here? But anyway, I won't be complaining for getting 60 fps...

looked like a draw distance problem not an image quality problem. Maybe the game was auto scaling down the draw distance before u put the fix in which then solved the slowdowns and removed the auto scaling.

Just a little note. I tried the latest .dll's available over at Nexus(Someone has made some ATI specific ones) They are actually pretty good. Now I need to go into say McArran or The Strip to truly see the results but overall they work quite well.

Wont help even more so with only 2GB. Maybe a delay in textures loading too.

i would suggest tweaking the ini file to increase the amount of ram the game uses to cache information the default settings from oblivion fallout 3 and New vegas only use like some 25mbs of ram for storing info on what to load but with tweaks you can increase that to 250mb which might improve texture loading and general data loading for the game but the ini tweak itself can vary on its effectiveness. in general tho it might help bridge the gap between the slower hdd and the games demands on loading information.

from a reference standpoint i can say your gonna want about 1.5gigs of system ram free when running the game

also look for mussels ultimate defrag guide and put steam / new vegas on the outside edge of your hdd to improve load times and data caching of the files needed

I think I'll... wait for my new harddrive tomorrow
clone my current drive over to it
THEN defrag it

even then the ini tweaks can seriously help if the issue persists granted i can say my personal ini tweaks go way overboard on some things so i know in oblivion my frame rate is cut in half but fallout 3 and new vegas i run minor edits to help with loading and cache of data to help smooth some things out its an option thats on the table if a clone and defrag dosent help

i just thought the bad textures were because of the game being so large, so there are higher rez textures....
i wont want to play now untill i've tweaked the game.... research time....
