I hope not.

It was everywhere. Very close to bridging connections in some cases. It's like they must spread the paste with their fingers and then flip it over in their hands a few times.

Are you nuts? They were 2mm away from bridging connectors in places. Yeah, just some smudges that could fry an expensive card... They shouldn't be there period. It's sloppy and doesn't inspire a lot of confidence. Even more so for me since they shipped my last card with the wrong bios.

Newegg messed with retail cards... bios? That is crazy... they shouldn't do that...

Well... one thing in my mind: never buy stuff as second -hand or from a sloppy online store which messes with your expensive card. Period...

I always buy my stuff from Amazon.co.uk, Dustin.se, everest.co.uk and overclockers.co.uk

...what? Why do you think any of this has something to do with newegg? MSI shipped my last card with the wrong bios, not newegg. A retailer would have no part in either issue.

The smudge near the unoccupied fan screw hole seemed pretty close to disaster. The only part that makes this ok is that I'm sure they tested the card after assembly... at least I'd assume.

the paste isnt conductive, they (everyone) NEVER uses conductive TIM for this very reason. they'd rather higher temps than any risk from their monkeys doing assembly.

did it look terrible? sure. your new pic is SHINY. was it dangerous or affecting the card in any way? no.

it has fingerprints, so i assume someone had to touch it. maybe the machine messed up, so Mr Monkey had to get in there and do some by hand.
