Quieter cooler for 5770

I am using the stock cooler on my sapphire radeon 5770. It gets really loud pretty fast. I was wondering if anyone knew if there was a better cooler out there.

Options are pretty limited; The Accelero L2 is one of the few options that don't require mod work. Reviews say it works well and is pretty inexpensive.

Otherwise, you can try to adjust the fan speed of your card. From what I know the 5770 is pretty cool.

Not to mention quiet.
What version do you have? Reference (with the blower) or the most recent with an axial fan?
Mine is in a case with somewhat bad airflow and yet, doesn't go above 70ºC nor does it make that much noise.

my refrence card is pretty good, it gets loud around 85% cooling and even thn its not very bothersome. I just turn the volume knob up on my sound system or put on some headphones when gaming.

Got the card long time in you case?
Maybe the fan gets higher RPM because the card heat up from having to much dusts on the HSF either that or the fan bearings are wearing off?

May just need to blow out the dust or put one drop of baby oil or similar in center of the fan , under the sticker usually (short time solution)

Alpenfóhn Héidi requires a bit of trimming if you have a dvi block ( 4 mm of one side from bout 6 fins) and cools brilliantly, it cools epically if you get a copper shim ( 40c or so under-load) as its a direct touch heatsink .
