idk. just wondering. i never will run multi gpu setup again anyways. but if i want to just want to know if it could handle it. and according to 80plus.org this PSu is able to handle 940w. which is well over the rated 850w

you can run a civic at 110mph forever with castrol edge

The case and the PSU are the two components you usually keep the longest on any build.
Don't skimp on them and they will always be a worthy investment.

Ya go look at the Corsair AX850w reviews. They are going to be 99% the same PSU except for a few changes Corsair may have requested through their engineers.

Well Seasonic is the OEM for many if not all of Corsair's latest PSU's. I think they use Delta for a few designs. Now Corsair just like any company can have some parts of the design changed, but I doubt they differ that much if any. Seasonic always makes top of the line PSU's but you pay out the nose for it like Enermax. Ripple suppresion, voltage regulation, efficiency, OCP, OVP is most likely top notch like their other PSU's.

Seasonic is one of the brands that you really don't need the JonnyGuru review this time. You can count on their PSU to be top notch quality. Especially since this isn't their first gold series PSU to launch either. Think of what PC&C used to be....

There are quite a few on the Gold bandwagon now, it's good to see, I actually think OCZ were the first, certainly they were the first for Jonny G to review that had acheived Gold status.

Thats not completely true, the M12 got a some bad reviews, I have owned 2, one great and one poor and the thing is, even those manufacturers that used Seasonic OEM's tend to upgrade the components to their personal specification to make them better than seasonic's base spec.... read Corsair in the past

@Tatty_One
Can you give at least one review where Seasonic M12 is bad? Every portal, that have reviewed this PSU was like: "WOW, that PSU rulezz". Even SPCR said that this is one of three best 850W PSU on market.

I was not specific to a power rating although you quote the 850W??? there are loads in the M12 lineup. I didnt say it was bad, I said even the M12 got some bad reviews, most of the "Bad" reviews were from users who had lived with the unit for a while, I will list just a couple here, of "proper" reviews, there many good ones, and many of them have negatives too, you know ones with praises and faults, here are a couple of those as well, my point being, there are manufacturers of equally decent quality units who often sell for less ......

take a look at Newegg user reviews, out of 10 2 gave poor ratings, thats 20% disattisfied but to be fair, even the best can dissapoint some. To be clear here, I am NOT saying Seasonic or specifically the M12 are poor, they are not, they are in fact very good, what I am saying is you can find as good for cheaper in some circumstances.

The Corsair AX850w is actually $20 cheaper than the Seasonic right now. I really don't see where there will be much deviation between the two models though. The base Seasonic OEM design should NOT be confused with what Corsair and Seasonic chose to implement in their retail models.

@ dr emulator - You aren't the first person to have slight issues with the AX line of PSU's. I'll read your problem later today.

@ Tatty_One - You are right. We shouldn't blindy follow manufacturers. I mean look at PC&C nowadays. Yet Seasonic, with their X650 & X750 plus the AX Corsair series, gives us a pretty good idea of what this unit will do.

the AX series isnt all that good. im pretty sure corsair replaced some parts in side them to make it cheaper or something. which is the cause for people getting the popping and coil whine

Hmm I honestly haven't kept up with the PSU market "much" lately. I have seen a couple threads regarding this issue with the AX850w. Could it just be a bad batch that was produced? I'm sure it happens to every manufacturer some time or another. Antec is launching a HCP850w soon which should be a great PSU. The HCP1200w is probably the best 1200w+ unit out on the market now. The only downside is that it is not 100% modular. It will have non-modular cables like the HX line up from Corsair.

What wins it for me in the X850 is the full modular and uses a san ace fan and its GOLD

You're using a HX1000. Why in the heck do you need to "downgrade" to an 850w? Pointless.

because a 1000w is pointless to me. and my friend could use it for much better things since he has more stuff to power
