Thermaltake Max 5G- Active Cooling 3.5 inch External Hard Drive Enclosure
Thermaltake, leading DIY chassis and storage enclosure brand, presents all users the world’s first storage enclosure solution with dual-fan design, the Thermaltake Max 5G. With the dual 80mm fans, the Max 5G can effectively exhaust heat out of the storage enclosure to lower the internal temperature and thereby ensuring data integrity during file transfers between the external hard disk and your computer, as well effectively prolonging lifetime of your installed hard drive. Besides dual fans the brand new Max 5G also sports blue LEDs that give the Max 5G its special looks. The two LEDs can easily be turned off by a convenient switch on the back of the enclosure, light it as you like. Due to its slim size of 14.5*20.7*4.7 cm and 405g the Max 5G is convenient to carry along for people on the move.
In addition to its perfect appearance, the Thermaltake Max 5G also offers high compatibility by implementing eSATA as well as USB 2.0 interfaces with high transfer rates; USB 2.0 with up to 480Mbps and eSATA with up to 3Gbps. Moreover, the Max 5G supports all 3.5 inch SATA I, II, 3.0 and 6G hard drives up to 2TB. In order to enhance the overall enclosure stability, the Max 5G comes with a device stand with easy twist-out functionality. The Max 5G is an ideal solution to transfer data from your portable hard disk to a computer. Its easy-carry size is also convenient for users to bring out data to share with friends, colleagues and people around. Furthermore, even if the Max 5G is a dual-fan hard disk enclosure, it is still quiet when transferring data. To learn more about Thermaltake Max 5G go to this page. Looks nice, but c'mon, 2x 80mm fans? I don't remmeber any HDD to heat up so much to require such overkill cooling. 1x 80mm would be enough or even better, none, with passive cooling. LED's can be optional if you love blue lighting.

I like the design of the case. Very sleek. The blue leds go nice with usb 3.0. I wonder if that side opens where the fans are if someone wanted to swap fans or tear it all apart and change the front led to another color. I'm not a fan of blue.
Be nice if they make a similar case but much smaller for 2.5 hdd/ssd. That's more practical for on the go. |

while dual 80 is a bit overkill (one of my HDD enclosure has one 80mm fan for 5 drives, the other has a 120mm for four), this doesnt seem too bad.
at least its got USB 3.0 and e-sata in the same enclosure.
