HD6950 recognised as Standard VGA Adapter

Hi!
Please help me. I bought today a PowerColor's Radeon HD 6850 and my windows 7 x64 dont recognises it. In the device manager its says Standard VGA Graphics Adapter. My previous card was Radeon HD3850

GPU-Z wtf??

My specs:
Intel Quad Core Q8300
ASUS P5B (Bios 2104 newest)
RAM 2x2 GB 800 Mhz
Corsair TX650

I tried to clear CMOS (but i dont know i am doing it well) After clearing CMOS everytime i have error CMOS Cheksum Error, and CMOS Time and Date not set. f1 for settings and f2 for defaults. f2 and f1 doesnt help still it is vga adapter... I tried to install ATI Catalyst 10.10, 10.11 and 10.12 still nothing. Please help me i want to try out this card. I believe in you! Greetings

Did you uninstall the drivers and reinstall the 10.12's once the new card was in?

Try removing the card and reseating it. Also, did you use the appropriate power connectors? Your PSU should be more and good enough to push that thing.

I'd recommend grabbing Driver Sweeper and install it. Uninstall ATI/AMD drivers from within Add/Remove Programs and reboot into safe mode. Run Driver Sweeper and clean all ATI display drivers and reboot back to normal mode. Install your 10.10e drivers or newer, which ever you prefer, and see what happens.

Where did you buy it at?

Something really weird is going on here and the card isn't installing the driver correctly. Look at the driver version in your screen shot. It's not even close to, say, 10.11 like in the screen shot below. Ignore the red box, this is a screen posted by W1zzard in the 6950 unlock thread.

Are you sure the drivers are completing installation, or could it be saying that CCC is up to date. I had this issue yesterday when I was installing drivers for my 5970.

Did you just remove and delete the driver in Device Manager, or did you completely remove CCC? I would run the installer and select uninstall, and then reinstall the entire package.

I had the same problem today.

Don't download the AMD Catalyst 10.12 Preview for Windows 7– Featuring the new Catalyst Control Center, 110 MB, 10.12, 12/13/2010 (https://a248.e.akamai.net/f/674/9206..._Win7_Dec7.exe)

It doesn't contain the driver and thus doesn't install it.

Instead, download and install this: Catalyst Software Suite (64 bit) English Only, 72.6 MB, 10.12 12/13/2010 (https://a248.e.akamai.net/f/674/9206...dd_ccc_enu.exe)

Should fix your problems. If the cause is the same.
